CAL FIRE is making progress with a fire in De Luz near Fallbrook. The fire has burned 50 acres. Firefighters have knocked down half of the blaze.

This is the San Diego County Sheriff's Department with a safety message on Sunday, August 9th.

A brush fire is burning in De Luz near Fallbrook. Per CAL FIRE the fire is holding at 35 acres and there is no immediate threat to homes.

The fire broke out just before 3:00 p.m. today in the 39000 block of De Luz Road.

38 (telephone numbers and emails) Alert San Diego messages went out today to notify people who live in the area of an evacuation advisory as a precaution. If you would like to evacuate, De Luz Road is CLOSED. Take northbound Daily Road or southbound Daily Road into Fallbrook.

Be aware of increased law enforcement activity in the area as firefighters work to put out the fire. Avoid the area if you can. Hobby drone users are also urged not to fly in the area for the safety of the firefighting planes or helicopters and its crew. If you fly, CAL FIRE can't fly to fight the fire.
