Street Closures!! August 8, 2015 @ 4pm in and around the area of Broad and Markets Streets Heavy Traffic Conditions are expected.
On Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 1600 hours the Mayor and the Community will "Occupy the City" which will occur within all five Wards of the City. The participants will meet at each designated location; they will then proceed to walk to
Broad Street and Market Street, where they will hold an anti-violence rally. The various groups will meet at each designated location at
1530 hours, and then start their designated walks at 1600 hours.
This event will require the cordoning off of the area of Broad Street and Market Street where the rally will be held. It will also require the escorting of all the participants from the five starting locations to the final rally point of Broad Street and Market Street, to ensure the safety of the participants.
Designated routes to Broad Street and Market Street
• Victoria St & Cutler St
Walking south on Cutler St to 7 Ave, then turn left on 7th Ave. Go to Broadway then walk north on Broadway then turn slightly right and continue walking north on Broad St, until reaching Broad St and Market St.
Central Ave & So 9th St
Walking east on Central Ave to West Market St, turn slightly right continuing east on West Market St. Walk east on West Market St to Market St, continue walking till reaching Broad St and Market St.
So 15th St & 15th Ave
Walking north on So. 15 St to So. Orange Ave. Turn right onto So. Orange Ave and continue walking east to West Market St. Walk east on West Market St till reaching Broad St and Market St.
Brunswick St & Astor St
Walking east on Astor St to Broad St. Walk north on Broad St until reaching Broad St and Market St.
Street Closures:
Mulberry St to Washington St and Raymond Blvd to Lafayette St
Pennington Court
Walking west on South St to Broad St. Turn right onto Broad St and continue walking till reaching Broad St and Market St.
