Two Day Sweep by Clean Team Results in Six Arrests

 

Miami/Fulton Counties – A recent two day sweep by members of the CLEAN Team has resulted in six arrests from Fulton and Miami Counties.

On Tuesday officers served a Fulton Circuit Court search warrant on a home at 1100 Park Road, Lot 48, Rochester, IN. During the search, officers allegedly found heroin, marijuana, hypodermic needles, and drug paraphernalia. There was also a 16 year-old girl at the home. She was released into the care of the Fulton County Division of the Indiana Department of Child Services. Four adult residents of the home were arrested and incarcerated in the Fulton County Jail. Nicholas Jackson, 18, faces criminal charges for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Rita Sellers, 39, faces charges for neglect of a dependent, possession of a hypodermic needle, and maintaining a common nuisance. Chad Sellers, 43, faces charges for maintaining a common nuisance and possession of a hypodermic needle. Isaac Sellers, 22, was arrested for possession of heroin and possession of a hypodermic needle.

Last night, officers executed a search warrant at 284 East Sixth Street, Peru, IN. During their search, officers allegedly found a methamphetamine lab, methamphetamine, and chemical precursors associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine. There were also three children, ages 13, 7, and 12, inside the residence.  The children were released into the care of the Miami County Division of the Indiana Department of Child Services. Steven Spriggs, 35, and Clarrinne Spriggs, 32, were both incarcerated in the Miami County Jail to face criminal charges for possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of chemical precursors, and three counts for neglect of a dependent. Steven faces an additional count for manufacturing methamphetamine. Clarrinne faces an additional charge for conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.

Officers from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, the Miami County Sheriff’s Department, the Rochester Police Department, and the Peru Police Department assisted with the warrant services. Members of the Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team cleaned up the purported methamphetamine lab.

The CLEAN Team is a task force with 11 law enforcement entities that have dedicated resources to fight narcotics in Fulton and Miami Counties. CLEAN stands for Combined Law Enforcement Against Narcotics.  The main focus of the task force is narcotics enforcement with an emphasis on methamphetamine related crimes.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
