*UPDATE - Victim Identified from Single Vehicle Fatal Crash on I-65 in Johnson County
Franklin - The Indiana State Police are investigating a crash that resulted in one fatality and injured seven others. At approximately 1:30 PM a 2004 Chevrolet Van, driven by 45 year old Eladio R. Salinas of Chicago, ran off the roadway on I-65 at the 88.5 mile marker and rolled over. 53 year old Miguel Angel-Reyes of Chicago, a passenger in the van, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and six other passengers were transported to local hospitals with non life threatening injuries.
One patient was taken to Methodist Hospital with abdominal injuries and is listed in stable condition. The driver was transported to St. Francis Hospital and all others went to Columbus Regional Hospital. The status of their injuries are unknown at this time.
The men in the van worked for Minute Men Staffing out of Chicago and were on their way to Kentucky for an unknown job.
A portable breath test for alcohol was administered to the driver and indicated no alcohol was present. As with all fatal crashes, a sample of the driver's blood will be tested for drugs and alcohol.
It is unknown why the van ran off the roadway, this is an ongoing investigation and there is no further information at this time. The original release is below.

Franklin - At approximately 1:30 this afternoon the Indiana State Police responded to a single vehicle rollover crash on I-65 at the 88.5 mile marker. Preliminary investigation revealed a southbound passenger van ran off the roadway to the right side and rolled over. One passenger was ejected from the van and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Johnson County Coroner. The driver of the van was transported to St. Francis Hospital with head injuries and the remaining six passengers were transported to Columbus Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The right lane will remain closed at this time on southbound I-65 at the 88.5 mile marker while this crash is investigated.
There is no indication to what caused the van to leave the road. This is an ongoing investigation and there is no further information available at this time.
