The OSBI is hosting a two night media academy to teach local press members about the unique role of the Bureau in Oklahoma crime fighting. The first class is set for Tuesday, August 18 from 6pm – 9pm at OSBI Headquarters (6600 N. Harvey Place, OKC). A light dinner will be provided. During this night, investigators will take media inside a crime and demonstrate how agents work to solve it. Thursday, August 27 OSBI opens the crime lab to media (800 E. 2nd, Edmond). Dinner is provided this night as well. After a brief overview of how the Forensic Science Center services law enforcement agencies across the state, criminalists will demonstrate how they identify valuable information from evidence that can help find a suspect. Information from both nights will make any reporter or producer better understand how law enforcement handles criminal cases. You need not sign up for both nights, although it is preferred.
