August Employee of the Month

Officer Terry Dyer is August Employee of the Month for the Jackson Police Department. Officer Dyer is assigned to the Patrol Division and has 25 years of service. Officer Dyer’s district partners say he is very dependable, knowledgeable and he displays a positive work ethic.

Officer Dyer worked four years as a Patrol Officer with the Lexington Police Department before coming to the Jackson Police Department. He also served as a Reserve Deputy for the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department.

During his time at the Jackson Police Department, Officer Dyer has worked in the Gang Unit, Drug Task Force, and Street Crimes Unit. Officer Dyer is unique because he enjoys working patrol the most. Officer Dyer knows his job well and is very good at it. He is a Field Training Officer who enjoys training new recruits and showing them the ropes at the Jackson Police Department. Officer Dyer is always willing to help anyone with anything without hesitation or complaint. He is a good example for all new officers.

Officer Dyer is the proud father of a 19 year old daughter named Emma, who attends Mississippi State.

Officer Dyer is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting and fishing.

Throughout the department, Officer Dyer is known as the prankster. He is always cracking jokes and making people laugh. No matter a person’s mood or the type of day they are having, Officer Dyer finds a way to make them smile. Officer Dyer is an excellent storyteller and absolute pleasure to work with.

Officer Dyer is a valuable asset to the Jackson Police Department.
