Madison Pair Jailed After Drugs Were Located Inside Their Residence

Madison – A pair of Madison residents were jailed after drugs were located in their residence during a warrant service.

On July 29, 2015 around 9:30 PM, Indiana State Police Troopers Andrew Garrett and Dustin Whitaker went to a residence on Kennedy Drive in Madison to serve a warrant for probation violation. The troopers located and arrested Stacey Reed 31, of Madison, on warrant for violation of probation. Trooper Garrett identified another subject at the residence as Brian Foutch 31, of Madison, and arrested him as well after learning he was the subject of a Jefferson County warrant for Failure to Appear on Driving While Suspended-Prior. Trooper Garrett discovered drugs on Foutch during the arrest. Trooper Garrett requested further assistance from Madison Police. Trooper Garrett obtained consent to search the home. Further investigation lead to the seizure of around 10 grams of crystal methamphetamine, scales, glass pipes and other drug paraphernalia.

Reed and Foutch were transported to the Jefferson County jail each facing the charge listed on their warrant (probation violation and failure to appear) and one count each of Dealing Methamphetamine, a Level 4 Felony, Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 5 Felony, Possession of a Legend Drug, a Level 6 Felony, Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class A Misdemeanor and Maintaining a Common Nuisance, a Class A Misdemeanor. Reed was additionally charged with Neglect of a Dependant, a Level 6 Felony, due to her two children being present during drug transactions.

This incident occurred only hours after a traffic stop by Trooper Robert Hutson on Clifty Drive in Madison resulted in the arrest of four people on drug charges.

Troopers Garrett and Whitaker were assisted by Jefferson County Deputy Josh Cochran and Madison Police.
