Residential burglary suspects ID'd and arrested thanks to tips from the public

On May 26, 2015, Los Altos Police released a photograph and surveillance footage of two residential burglary suspects who were caught on a home security camera. Thanks to tips provided by the public, each of the suspects has now been arrested.

On May 15, 2015 at about 3:44 p.m., Los Altos Police Officers responded to the 600 block of Harrington Court regarding a residential burglary. At least two suspects had entered the home by breaking a rear window. No residents were home at the time; however, a security camera within the home captured footage of the suspects.

The Los Altos Police Department asked for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects by broadcasting photos and video on local news channels and social media. As a result, investigators received tips that helped them to identify the suspects as DARON MALIK MEACHAM (DOB: 08/26/1995) of East Palo Alto, and DENNIS LAMONT MILLER JR (DOB: 07/15/1994) of Menlo Park.

Arrest warrants for both suspects were issued by the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office and on July 8, 2015, Meacham was arrested by the Menlo Park Police Department. Meacham was booked into the San Mateo County Jail and later transferred to the Santa Clara County Main Jail. On July 29, 2015, Miller was arrested by Hayward Police Department and booked into the Alameda County Jail.

The Los Altos Police Department would like to thank the public for their helpful tips, which led to the arrest of suspects Meacham and Miller.
