Road closures begin tonight, Friday July 31, at 5:00 p.m. for the 2015 Fremont Festival of the Arts.

A special event permit has been issued to the Fremont Chamber of Commerce for the 2015 Fremont Festival of the Arts.  The event will take place Saturday and Sunday, August 1-2, 2015. As a result, several roads in the City’s Downtown District will be closed and impacted by the event.

Beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, the following roads will close:
· Paseo Padre Pkwy – between Mowry Avenue and Stevenson Blvd.
· Liberty Street – between Beacon Ave. and Sundale Ave.
· Walnut Ave. – between Civic Center Drive & California Street
· Capitol Avenue – between Paseo Padre Pkwy and Hastings Street

The following roads will remain open to traffic:
· Hastings St.
· State St.
· California St.
· Beacon Ave.
· Mowry Ave.

All closed roads will reopen Sunday, August 2, by midnight. We apologize for the inconvenience and ask that all drivers use caution while driving in this area over the weekend.

Due to downtown road construction, the event layout for 2015 has changed.  The new site map can be viewed at: https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=zLFTu20yLMdY.kps-TnFw9A_I.

If you are planning to attend, please be sure to visit our booth, which will be staffed by members of our Community Engagement Unit and Recruitment Team.  Staff will be on hand to answer questions and talk about current employment opportunities, crime prevention resources and programs such as National Night Out and Neighborhood Crime Watch.

We would like to remind attendees that pets (all shapes and sizes) are NOT allowed at the event.

During this festival and all other Fremont events, we ask that community members remain aware of their surroundings and report suspicious activity by calling our non-emergency number at 790-6800 and selecting option 3 or dialing 9-1-1, if you believe you are witnessing a crime in progress.
