SUSPECT LOCATED - PCSO Homicide Detectives Conducting Stabbing Death Investigation

Robinson is in custody and will be booked into the Polk County Jail later today, Friday, July 31, 2015.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office Homicide detectives are currently searching for 52-year-old Nelson Robinson, last known address of 1250 Orange Boulevard, Polk City. Robinson is wanted in connection to the stabbing death of 63-year-old Horace C. Kinsler, Calla Place, Polk City.

At approximately 8:42 pm, Thursday, July 30, 2015, deputies responded to a report of a stabbing on Smith Road in Polk City. Upon their arrival, deputies located two victims, Horace Kinsler, and his brother, 49-year-old Joseph Kinsler, Saint Mary, Florida. Joseph Kinsler was transported to Lakeland Regional Health Center with stab wounds to his chest and left arm. He is currently listed in stable condition. Horace was also stabbed in the chest and died at the scene – PCSO Homicide detectives responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

Preliminary accounts from witnesses suggests there was a verbal altercation between the Kinsler brothers and Robinson. The altercation escalated into a physical struggle. Witnesses said after the struggle, Robinson fled on foot.

Robinson may have suffered an injury to his hand during the fight. Robinson is described as a black male with black hair and brown eyes. His is approximately 6’1”, and weighs approximately 190 pounds. There is an active Polk County Warrant for Robinson charging him with First Degree Murder, and Attempted First Degree Murder.

Robinson has been in the Polk County Jail 28 times, to include two arrests in 2015. He has been in state prison four times. His criminal arrests include Resisting Officer with Violence, Aggravated Battery, Battery on Person 65-years or Older Fleeing to Elude and Sexual Battery.
