Narrative:
On July 29, 2015, at approximately 2:10 a.m., an adult female was walking through the Janss Market Place when she was assaulted by a male suspect.
(S) Erik Ramos knocked the victim to the ground and sexually assaulted her. The victim was able to fight off Ramos and scream for help. Thousand Oaks Police officers were on an unrelated call when they heard the victim’s screams. Officers located the victim and Ramos. Ramos fled on foot, but was located a short distance away and arrested. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Ramos was booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility for a variety of sexual assault charges, including attempt rape. Ramos is being held on $100,000.00 bail.
The Thousand Oaks Police Department encourages citizens to take extra precautions when walking alone, especially during the hours of darkness.
