Early Morning Arrest of Two for Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm – On Sunday, July 26, 2015 at about 2:15 AM, Oakland Police officers responded to a call of a person armed with a gun in the area of 8th and Washington Street. When the officers arrived, they saw a car that matched the caller’s description. The officers made a traffic stop in the 450 block of 8th Street. The officers observed a firearm in the vehicle. The two occupants of the vehicle were arrested for unlawful possession of a loaded firearm.
OPD Arrests Two for Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm – On Saturday, July 25, 2015 at about 10:30 AM, Oakland Police officers were dispatched to the 5500 block of Claremont Avenue to investigate a report of a robbery. The officers met with four victims who said they had been walking to the Rockridge BART station when they were robbed at gunpoint. Witnesses were able to provide detailed descriptions of two suspects. A short time later, Oakland Police officers located the two suspects at a local store in the 1500 block of 40th Street. A loaded firearm was found in the suspects’ car as well as stolen property belonging to three of the victims. The suspects were arrested.
