FOUR ARRESTED WITH STOLEN PROPERTY

In the early morning hours of July 28th, three vehicles in the city of Morgan Hill were burglarized where items ranging from electronics, cell phones and duffel bags were stolen. In one instance, it appeared as though the suspects attempted to steal the victim's vehicle.

At approximately 0823 hours, members of the Morgan Hill Police Department received information from an alert citizen regarding a suspicious vehicle on Longview Drive. Several minutes later, Morgan Hill Police Officer's located a black Subaru and conducted a vehicle enforcement stop. Officer's contacted the four occupants of the vehicle who identified themselves as: Omar Garcia Padilla (19), Luis Garcia Padilla (20), Jose Chavez Pinto (30) and a female juvenile. All four subjects were from Contra Costa County.

During the course of the investigation it was determined that Omar Garcia Padilla had a $50,000.00 warrant from the San Jose Police Department for possession of a stolen vehicle. During a search of the suspect's vehicle, Officer's located stolen property from the aforementioned Morgan Hill vehicle burglaries.

Omar Padilla was arrested on the following charges: Possession of stolen property (three counts), petty theft and his $50,000 SJPD warrant.

Luis Garcia Padilla, Jose Chavez Pinto and the female juvenile were all arrested for three counts of possession of stolen property and petty theft.

Omar Padilla, Luis Padilla and Jose Chavez were transported to the Santa Clara County Main Jail and booked into their custody. The juvenile was transported to Santa Clara county Juvenile Hall.

Due to our strong partnership with the community, the Morgan Hill Police Department successfully recovered approximately $2,235.00 in stolen property and subsequently reunited all of the property to their rightful owners.

The Morgan Hill Police Department would like to remind the community the importance of locking their vehicles and to remove all valuable items from their vehicle prior to leaving it unattended.
