KCSO receives alcohol enforcement grant and offers free seminars

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce we have been awarded a State of California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Grant Assistance Program (GAP) grant for the 2015/2016 fiscal year. The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control offers grants to local law enforcement agencies in California to assist them in combating alcohol related violations of law and working toward the common goal of improving quality of life issues in communities throughout the state.

During this grant year, The Kern County Sheriff’s Office will offer free seminars presented by the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, for owners and employees of ABC licensed businesses. The first Licensee Education on Alcohol and Drugs (LEAD) training classes will take place at Sheriff’s Headquarters on Thursday August 6th from 6:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. If you are interested in reserving a seat for this training, Go to www.abc.ca.gov and follow the link to “On Line LEAD Registration”. Click on the “Register for a LEAD class” link.

There are 58 County Sheriff’s agencies in the State of California; the Kern County Sheriff’s Office was selected as one of only six California County Sheriff agencies to receive GAP grant funding for the 2015/2016 year.

The State of California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control is a division of the State of California-Business, Transportation and Housing Agency
