Deputies arrest a Chino Hills man for assault with a deadly weapon
DATE/TIME: July 21, 2015, at approximately 10:09 P.M.
INCIDENT: P.C. 245(A)(1) - Assault with a deadly weapon
LOCATION: Peyton Drive and Eucalyptus Avenue, Chino Hills
SUSPECT(S): Ammar Shaheen Mallick, 34 years of age and a resident of Chino Hills
VICTIM(S): Vicitm #1 - A 21 year old white male, resident of Chino
Victim #2 - A 20 year old white female, resident of Chino Hills
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at approximately 10:09 P.M., deputies from the Chino Hills Police Station responded to the intersection of Peyton Drive and Eucalyptus following the report of a traffic collision at the scene.
Upon arrival, deputies determined that the suspect, later identified as Ammar Shaheen Mallick, was parked down the street from his ex-girlfriend's house when he saw her get into a car with a male friend. Mallick followed the car and tried to get the male friend to pull over. When the male wouldn't pull over, Mallick pulled alongside the vehicle and purposely struck the victims vehicle with his car. A chase ensued and Mallick followed the vehicle until it lost control and crashed into the center divider at the intersection of Peyton Drive and Eucalyptus Avenue. Mallick fled the scene but returned to the location a short time later.
Mallick was subsequently arrested, transported and booked into the West Valley Detention Center.
