AMERICA’S NATIONAL NIGHT OUT AGAINST CRIME

AMERICA’S NATIONAL NIGHT OUT AGAINST CRIME

TUSTIN, Calif. – On August 4, 2015, The Tustin Police Department will participate in the 32nd Annual National Night Out (ANNO). The event will take place from 5:00 pm until 8:00pm at The District, located at 2437 Park Avenue, in the Target parking lot.

You and your family are invited to attend National Night Out and help take a stand against crime. This summer it is more important than ever since crime has been on the rise. What is National Night Out about you may ask? It is about crime prevention and interacting with law enforcement personnel in a more casual environment. National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention; generate participation in local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit, improve police and community partnerships, and most importantly, send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

In addition to crime prevention, Neighborhood Watch, CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), and CSI (Crime Scene Investigation), there will be several fun activities for the entire family.

Our entertainment will include a canine demonstration, Tustin Dance Center, and West Coast Taekwondo. City dignitaries will be present along with Miss Tustin and the Tustin Police Honor Guard. Don’t forget the Orange County Fire Department and the U.S. Army, 419th CSSB (Combat Sustainment Support Battalion).

If you are looking for children’s activities, you will find them at the Tustin Police National Night Out event. There will be a bounce house, face painting, games, children’s I.D. kits from Farmers Insurance, photos with an Officer, and a chance to check out a number of community vehicles. Pretend City will be at our event providing a special activity for the children.

We will have a number of community resource organizations. If you wish to find out more about mosquitoes or rodent control, you can visit Orange County Vector Control. If you wish to find an organization that provides community projects for your teenager, you can visit Lion’s Heart Tustin Teen Group. If you wish to find assistance in helping your child cope with some of life’s difficulties, you can visit Bright Futures for Kids. If you think your parent is experiencing symptoms of Alzheimers, you can visit the Alzheimer’s Association. There will be a variety of community resource organizations to help you and your family deal with life’s challenges.

National Night Out will be about safety, fun, education, and entertainment for the entire family. National Night Out is a free event and we hope to see you there!
