Phelan - A Probation Check results in the arrest of Frank Odum for possession of firearms, ammunition and narcotics

SUSPECT(S): Frank Odum, age 60 of Phelan

SUMMARY: On July 17, 2015, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department High Desert Regional Gang Team was assisting local fire crews during the North Fire in the area of Oak Hills. During this time, a probation check was conducted at 3939 Chevoit Road in Phelan. During the probation check, deputies discovered drug paraphernalia in open view inside a room in the residence. A search warrant for the residence was obtained and through investigation, various firearms, explosives, ammunition, illegal narcotics, and items indicative of narcotics sales were located in the bedroom belonging to Frank Odum of Phelan.
Odum was arrested without incident, transported and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for possessing seven firearms, ammunition, seven military grade explosives, five pounds of marijuana, and seven grams of methamphetamine for sale.
