National Stop on Red Week

The Marietta Police Department is a proud supporter of the National Stop on Red Week that will take place August 2nd- 8th. This week is dedicated to educating the public about the dangers of running red-lights and violating red light laws nationwide.

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), 697 people were killed in 2013 from crashes involving red light violations, and an estimated 127,000 were injured. With those devastating numbers, the Marietta Police Department finds it essential for our community’s wellbeing to help spread the word about National Stop on Red Week and help keep Marietta’s roads safe.
