Homemade bomb device found in Soap Lake residential driveway.

SOAP LAKE, Wash. (27JULY2015) – Grant County Sheriff’s Office reports that on July 19, 2015 at approximately 5:50pm, a homemade bomb was reported at a residence near the 200th block of Moses Lake Avenue (Lakeview area) of Soap Lake. The device, a metal can containing a suspicious “varnish” like liquid, was placed in a resident’s driveway with a tube of lipstick on top.

Richland Bomb Squad was called in for assessment of the scene and device. The device was then destroyed.

There are no suspects at this time, and it is not known if the device would have gone off.

Sheriff Tom Jones said, “Regardless of intent with this device, we take all reports like this very seriously. We want to thank the Richland Bomb Squad for their assistance and safe removal of this suspicious device.”
