Theft of Property Arrest
(Etowah County, Alabama) An Etowah County man was arrested and charged in connection to theft of property, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Wesley Lavan Vaughn, 32, of Altoona, was arrested July 21, and is charged with one count of first degree theft of property, a felony,” investigator Tara Bates said.
Over a period of approximately four months, Vaughn allegedly stole more than $15,000 in cash from his place of employment at the Jet Pep on Highway 431 near Kelly’s Auto Auction. His employer confronted him about the alleged theft and Vaughn admitted to investigators that he had stolen the money.
Vaughn is currently being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on $5,000 property bond. Investigator Jeremy Lasseter also assisted with the case.
