Assault Investigation

On July 26th, 2015 at about 11:22 pm Kern County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a home in the 13000 block of Castlemaine Ave. in west Bakersfield for a report of a stabbing.

When deputies arrived on scene they found two victims, an adult female and adult male, suffering from stab wounds. Both victims sustained moderate injuries and were transported to Kern Medical Center for treatment.

The victims were able to identify the person responsible for stabbing them. Deputies later located the suspect, an adult male, in the area where they found him incoherent and suffering from a stab wound to his torso. He was also transported to KMC for treatment.

During the investigation deputies determined the incident possibly started as a domestic dispute between the suspect and the two victims. The suspect was acquainted with the two victims and may have previously been involved in a relationship with the daughter of one of the victims.

The investigation is ongoing.
