Burglary Arrest

(Etowah County, Alabama) An Etowah County man was arrested and charged in connection to a recent burglary in Etowah County, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“David Wayne Morris, 49, of Hokes Bluff, was arrested Thursday, July 23, and is charged with one count of third degree burglary, a felony, and one count of attempting to elude a law enforcement officer, a misdemeanor,” investigator Jeremy Lasseter said.
Morris allegedly burglarized an abandoned residence in the 2000 block of Tom Cat Road. He gained access into the house after breaking a window and climbing inside. Morris stole scrap metal from the residence and pawned it at a local business.

Morris is currently being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on $3,500 bond.
