* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR... CENTRAL CUMBERLAND COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA... EAST CENTRAL FRANKLIN COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA... YORK COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA... ADAMS COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA...

* UNTIL 115 AM EDT

* AT 1201 AM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING QUARTER SIZE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS AROUND 60 MPH. THESE STORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM NEAR VALLEY GREEN TO NEAR PINE GROVE FURNACE TO NEAR UPPER STRASBURG...AND MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 25 MPH.

* LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE... CHAMBERSBURG...DALLASTOWN...GETTYSBURG...HANOVER...RED LION... SHIPPENSBURG...SPRY...WEIGELSTOWN...YORK...ASPERS...BOILING SPRINGS...BONNEAUVILLE...BROGUE...CASHTOWN...CODORUS...CROSS ROADS...DILLSBURG...DOVER...EAST BERLIN AND EAST YORK. THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING INTERSTATES... INTERSTATE 81 FROM MILE MARKERS 16 TO 42. INTERSTATE 83 FROM MILE MARKERS 7 TO 38.

* AFFECTED AREAS: ADAMS ... CUMBERLAND ... FRANKLIN ... YORK

Instructions:

THE THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS ARE EXPECTED TO PRODUCE DAMAGE. PEOPLE OUTSIDE SHOULD MOVE TO A SHELTER...PREFERABLY INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING. PREPARE FOR LARGE HAIL. STAY SAFE INDOORS. CONSIDER MOVING AUTOMOBILES INTO A GARAGE. TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IS ALSO OCCURRING WITH THESE STORMS...AND MAY LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE THROUGH FLOODED ROADWAYS. IN ADDITION TO OTHER THREATS...CONTINUOUS LIGHTNING IS OCCURRING WITH THESE STORMS. MOVE INDOORS IMMEDIATELY. LIGHTNING IS ONE OF NATURES LEADING KILLERS.
