The crash in the 1400 block of E Mason St will cause traffic backups and detours for the next several hours.
E Mason St will be closed at Baird St and Hartung St. Motorists are encouraged to use Main St as the detour route.
Update 07 24 15 at 07:05am - The Green Bay Police Department is investigating a traffic crash where one person has been pronounced dead. A second person was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
The victim vehicle was traveling eastbound on Mason St when it veered into oncoming traffic and hit a house. The vehicle also hit a gas meter causing a gas leak. Several people in the immediate area were evacuated. It appears that alcohol was a factor in this crash.
Expect E Mason St to be shut down for several hours. A notification will be sent when E Mason St is reopened.
The identities of the victims are being withheld at this time.
Update 07 24 15 at 8:30am - The traffic lanes for E Mason street has been restored and vehicles may proceed through this area.
