Petty Theft
Location: 3200 Block of Mission College Boulevard

Between the hours of 1000-1130, a female removed her wallet from her purse and failed to return her wallet to her purse. An unknown suspect(s) recovered the wallet from TJ Maxx, located on the 3200 block of Mission College Boulevard. The suspect(s) then attempted three fraudulent purchases with the victim's credit cards. All of the purchases were denied and the suspect(s) remains at large.

Driving Under the Influence
Location: 200 Block of Washington Street

An officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on the 200 block of Washington Street for a vehicle code violation. The female driver displayed objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication. The officer had the suspect perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests approved by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. She was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

NOTE: Between 1817 hours and 2137 hours, SCPD experienced a rash of auto burglaries, referred to as car clouts. The suspect(s) see something worth taking (generally GPS, a laptop, cell phone and/or purse), shatter the car window, grab whatever is visible and leave. Individuals are reminded to keep valuables out of sight to reduce the risk of becoming a victim. Suspicious behavior should be reported to the Santa Clara Police Department immediately at (408)615-5580. Crimes in progress should be reported by calling 9-1-1.

These incidents took place in the following locations: 2800 block of Augustine (15-8224), 800 block of Clyde Avenue (15-8201), 1600 Block of Coleman Avenue (15-8212), 3500 block of El Camino Real (15-8215, 15-8221), 3900 block of Freedom Circle (15-8222, 15-8226, 15-8228, 15-8230, 15-8232), 4100 block of Great American Parkway (15-8225, 15-8237), 3500 block of Homestead Road (15-8218), 3100 block of Mission College Boulevard (15-8238), 3900 block of Rivermark Parkway (15-8213), 3000 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard (15-8216, 15-8214, 15-8217) and 5000 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard (15-8236).

Grand Theft
Location: 1800 Block of Worthington Circle

An officer was dispatched to the 1800 block of Worthington Circle. An unknown suspect(s) turned the water off, unbolted, cut and removed three copper back flow valves valued at $3,000. The security cover cages appeared to have been unsecured. The suspect(s) are at large.

Robbery
Location: 5100 Block of Stevens Creek Boulevard

An adult male entered a store on the 5100 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard and pulled a handgun on the clerk. The suspect moved the clerk to a back room where he loaded up his backpack with several cell phones. The suspect then fled into the parking lot where he got into a car and left the area. The suspect remains at large.

Vehicle Theft
Location: 3300 Block of Viso Court

An officer observed a male suspect vehicle driving recklessly in the area of Nuttman Street and Keller Street. The officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop however the suspect failed to yield and a short pursuit ensued. The suspect proceeded to drive into a driveway and enter a building on the 3300 block of Viso Court. Workers managed to get out of the way before the suspect lost control and crashed into a concrete support pillar. From there, the suspect ran outside the building towards an adjacent business. With support from a good citizen, he was arrested without further incident.

A Records check revealed the suspect was driving an unreported stolen vehicle from East Palo Alto. He also had two outstanding felony no-bail bench warrants. A search of the vehicle yielded burglary tools and a controlled substance. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

NOTE: The Flame of Hope, the official torch for the Special Olympics World Games, was carried through the City of Santa Clara. Approximately 100 Law Enforcement runners from throughout the world were greeted by Santa Clara Mayor Jamie Matthews, San Francisco 49’ers Alumni and David Solo President and CEO of Special Olympics Northern California. A brief ceremony took place on the concourse at Levi’s Stadium. The San Francisco 49’ers Foundation sponsored the event.

Warrant Arrest
Location: 4200 Block of Great America Parkway

An officer was dispatched to a hotel on the 4200 block of Great America Parkway regarding subjects in a motorhome that refused to leave the property. A Records check revealed one of the occupants had a $20,000 arrest warrant. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail. The other subject left the hotel property.

NOTE: Eight thefts from vehicles took place in north Santa Clara on the 2800 block of Augustine Drive (#15-8404), the 4100 block of Great America Parkway (#15-8408), the 2900 block of Lakeside Drive (#15-8405, #15-8406, #15-8407, #15-8418) and the 3900 block of Rivermark Plaza (#15-8401, #15-8402). In each case, a purse, backpack and/or computer bag was visible to the unknown suspect(s), a window was smashed and the items were stolen. The suspect(s) remain at large.

Municipal Code Violation
Location: Fremont Park, 1303 Fremont Avenue

An officer observed a van with a female inside, parked at 1303 Fremont Street, selling ice cream. The officer approached the subject and inquired whether she had a valid business permit from the City of Santa Clara to sell consumable goods. She did not. In addition, the Santa Clara County Department of Environmental Health sticker was no longer valid. She was cited for this Municipal Code violation and released at the scene.
