Expect Delays due to Memorial Escort for Lance Corporal Skip Wells through Kennesaw starting today through Sunday 
Kennesaw July 23 2015: Expect delays today through Sunday. Lance Corporal Skip Wells will be escorted from Hartsfield Airport to Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. The arrival time at Hartsfield is expected to be 12:36 pm today.
The route through Kennesaw will begin when the motorcade escort exits I75 at Chastain Rd (exit 271). The projected route through Kennesaw will continue down Chastain Rd to McCollum Blvd continuing to Cobb Parkway. The escort will continue North on Cobb Parkway to Winkenhofer Funeral Home.
The following intersections will be closed during the procession: Along Chastain/McCollum - Duncan Rd, Big Shanty Rd, Cessna Rd, Main St, and the intersection at Cobb Pkwy. Along Cobb Pkwy North Bound - Kennesaw Due West, Watts Dr and Jiles Road.
Expect heavy delays from traffic and pedestrians stopping to show their respect to Lance Corporal Wells during the procession.
Additional delays may occur throughout the weekend. The schedule of events are as follows:
Friday - Visitation hours will be from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm.
Saturday - Visitation hours will be from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm.
Sunday - 1:15 pm Lance Corporal Wells will be escorted to Woodstock First Baptist Church for the 2 pm Memorial Service. After the service, the procession will continue to the Georgia Memorial Cemetery in Canton.
