The warehouse fire at Rt 1 and Livingston Ave has been deemed “contained” by the North Brunswick Fire Department. Fire suppression and clean up operations will continue for some time. Air quality is being monitored by the Department of Environmental Protection. No immediate hazard has been detected, however residents should avoid inhaling smoke and stay indoors. Some residents in close proximity are still displaced due to smoke conditions. Traffic conditions along Livingston Ave between Route 1 and How Lane are heavy due to fire operations. Although operations are expected to be reduced in the area as the day ends, travelers should seek alternate routes in the immediate area to avoid delays.
