Man arrested on outstanding warrant after being the victim of an auto theft on NW 20th...

On 7-18-15, at 9:01 PM, officers were sent to 1101 NW 20th, the area of Bones Hooks Park, on a motor vehicle/pedestrian accident.  Officers found Steven Luther, WM 30 there, suffering from multiple abrasions and a cut over his eye.  The man told officers that he was driving a silver Toyota pickup and stopped at the park.  A black female that he knew by name approached him and asked for a ride.  When Luther declined, the female got into the back seat of the four door pickup.  When he tried to get her out of the vehicle, a black male got into the driver’s side and tried to drive away westbound on NW 20th.  Luther grabbed the vehicle and hung on and was dragged some distance before falling off, sustaining the injuries in the incident.  The suspects escaped with the vehicle.  The victim was treated and released from the hospital.  During the investigation, officers found that Luther had an outstanding warrant for parole violation stemming from a burglary of a habitation conviction.  He was arrested and booked into the Potter County Detention Center on the parole revocation charge.  On 7-19-15, at about 11:35 AM, an APD patrol officer located the pickup near 7th and N. Monroe.  It had body damage from a recent minor accident.  It was returned to the owner.  There have been no arrests in the vehicle theft.
