North Fire - UPDATE - Saturday, July 18th 9:30 a.m.

DATE/TIME OF INCIDENT: 7/17/2015 2:31 p.m.

DATE/TIME OF REPORT: 7/18/2015 8:30 a.m.

LOCATION OF EVENT: Near Oak Hill Exit in the Cajon Pass


CURRENT SITUATION:
· As per USFS, the North Fire stands at 3,500 acres and 5% contained.
· Objectives are to keep the fire north of the I-15, east of Highway 138, south of Phelan Rd., and west of the I-15.
· Edison crews are working to repair damaged infrastructure in the Baldy Mesa Area, 24 customers are without power.
· The Office of the Fire Marshall (OFM) is currently conducting damage assessments.
· San Bernardino County Fire Gel Taskforce has been deployed for structure protection.

EVACUATONS:
· Mandatory evacuations of the Baldy Mesa area remain in place.

HUMAN SHELTER:
· The overnight shelter client count was 204 with a current population of 194.
· Additional shelter clients were bussed to Serrano High School when the Pine fire caused the evacuation of 4 campgrounds.
· Public Health provided an Environmental Health Specialist to assess the shelter.

ANIMAL SHELTER:
· The animal shelter is located at the San Bernardino County Event Center/Fairgrounds located at 14800 7th Street Victorville CA 92395.
· The following animals are being sheltered:
Ø 32 Horses
Ø 12 Mini Horses
Ø 39 pigs
Ø 2 Cows
Ø 5 peacocks
Ø 3 pigeons
Ø 13 chickens
Ø 5 Peacocks
Ø 1 Sheep
Ø 5 Goats
Ø 2 Mini Donkeys

ACTIVATIONS:
· The OA EOC remains activated to Level I in support of the North Fire.
· The State REOC is activated to Level I in support of the SBCOA EOC.
· Phelan/Pinon Hills CERT was deployed overnight to assist at the American Red Cross Shelter at Serrano High school with evacuees from the Pine Fire.
· Phelan/Pinon Hills CERT remains deployed at Serrano High School.
· Oak Hills CERT remains activated at Phase – Alert.
· San Bernardino County Fire ECS remains activated to support CERT at Serrano High School shelter in Phelan.
· The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Operations Center remains activated.
· The DPH DOC is activated to Level 2 in support of the OA EOC and to fulfill request for ADA cots and transport of the cots to the Shelter.

ROAD CLOSURES:
· As per Cal Trans, SB lanes 1, 2 and 3 of I-15 were reopened in the early morning hours.
· The #4 southbound lane remains closed.
· All northbound lanes were opened as of 3:00 a.m.
