On Wednesday July 15, 2015, at approximately 8:00 P.M., a Palos Verdes Peninsula resident arrived home to discover two males running out of her house through the front door. They got into a nearby getaway car and sped away. The quick thinking resident immediately dialed 911 and provided a detailed description of the suspects and the suspect vehicle. Lomita deputies arrived shortly thereafter and began the initial investigation and search. It was soon discovered a residential burglary had in fact occurred.

Within minutes Lomita deputies located the suspect vehicle and a traffic stop was conducted. Edgar Villapando, 18, from Wilmington and two minors were detained. It was discovered an additional residential burglary had occurred a short time earlier in the same neighborhood. Evidence linking the suspects to both burglaries was recovered from within the vehicle.

All three suspects were booked at Lomita Sheriff’s Station where first degree burglary charges will be sought.
