Sheriff's Public Information Officers receive Sheriff's Recognition Coin for Outstanding Service
EPHRATA, Wash. (16JULY2015)- Sheriff's Office Public Infomation Officer's (PIO) Kyle Foreman and Sharon Palmerton received the Sheriff's Recognition Coin for Outstanding Service. On Tuesday, Sheriff Tom Jones presented the coins to both Foreman and Palmerton during a law enforcement roundtable meeting. Over the past 2 month, the PIO's have been extremely busy handling media inquiries on multiple large scale events such as the Monument Hills Fire, Beesley Hill Fire, the man hunt for David Santos and the most recent drownings on Banks and Park Lake. The role of the public information Officer is to gather information from current events and relay that information through media outlets to reach the public. The Sheriff's PIO's work very well with other PIO's across the state and have a great relationship with all media outlets. "I believe that I have the two best PIO's in the state. And both of these talented individuals are volunteers", said Sheriff Tom Jones. "They do absolutely incredible work and it was a well earned award".
