Elderly Driver Strikes Parked Vehicle
Sullivan County—Just before 8:00 this morning, Indiana State Police and Sullivan County emergency agencies responded to a two-vehicle crash in front of 315 West Main in Farmersburg, IN.
Preliminary investigation revealed a green 1998 Mercury Villager, driven by 92-year-old Max E. Heady of Farmersburg, IN., was traveling westbound on Main Street and for an unknown reason, Heady’s vehicle struck the rear of a parked blue 2000 Ford Crown Victoria owned by Jeff Thomas of 315 West Main Street Farmersburg, IN. The impact forced the unoccupied blue Ford Crown Victoria onto the sidewalk.
Max Heady sustained minor cuts and abrasions, but refused treatment at the scene.
The crash was investigated by ISP Master Trooper Polly Blackburn. Assisting were ISP Troopers Brent Robinson and Tom Hanks, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Deputy Lieutenant Bill Snead, Thunderbird Fire/Rescue, and Sullivan County EMS.
Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
