On Monday, July 13, 2015 – “Sheboygan Night Scanner” posted information on their Facebook page that, “a white van with an Ohio license plate ‘GEL 5090’  has been going to parks and other places in the city and asking females to get into their vehicle. “  Photographs taken from a Facebook post regarding incidents that occurred in May, in Warren, Ohio were also posted to suggest this van and offender are in Sheboygan.

There have been no reported sightings of this van or offender in the City of Sheboygan.  The intentional posting of unconfirmed, speculative and inaccurate information does not serve our community’s interest.

We do agree that is important for parents to discuss the concepts of “stranger danger” with their children and for citizens to report suspicious activity to the police.
