Advisory

NWS has issued a Beach Hazard Statement until late this evening. Please, don't overestimate your swimming abilities.

The National Weather Service has issued a Beach Hazard Statement until late this evening. High wave action, large waves, and dangerous currents are expected. Conditions are life threatening.

  • Strong Structural Currents are expected
  • Strong Longshore Currents are expected
  • Rip Currents are expected

All Sheboygan Beaches are affected. Structural currents form along piers where longshore currents and wave action flow into the structure. Structural currents can sweep you out into deeper water along the pier structure. Rip currents are more powerful channels of water flowing quickly away from shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in sandbars.

Please, do not overestimate your swimming abilities and take heed to these cautions.
