2nd UPDATE: I-65 north lanes at the 47mm no longer has water across the roadway. Motorists are able to travel northbound without going through standing water on the roadway. The standing water across the south lanes of I-65 at the 47mm is starting to recede. Motorists traveling southbound are able to use both lanes to slowly travel through the area at this time. Traffic southbound is moving quicker at this time and is currently backed up to the 53mm.

INDOT and Indiana State Police has just opened all lanes of travel for I-65 south at the 47mm. ISP units are standing by in the area as the congestion clears itself out.

UPDATE: I-65 south and north lanes are slow-going at the 47mm as water is moving across the roadway on both sides. Currently motorists are using the driving (right) lane in both directions to travel slowly through the standing water. At this time, I-65 remains open both north and southbound. US 31 south of US 50 is closed due to water across the roadway. An alternate route may be to exit at US 50 East (Exit 50), follow it over to SR 3 south in North Vernon and then take SR 56 west to Scottsburg and pick-up I-65 south. I-65 is currently backed up southbound to the 52mm.

Indiana State Police Versailles Post advises motorists to AVOID I-65 south lanes currently between 49-47mm in Jackson County due to moving water across both lanes. This situation has caused  traffic congestion and the south lanes are currently backed up to the 51mm. Suggested alternate route is to exit I-65 at US 50, take it over to US 31 South.. US 31 south of US 50 may have some area where water crosses the road as well. Be advised that I-65 south may be on the verge of closing at exit 50 (Seymour) at any time.
