#MPD is seeking the public's help with locating the vehicle involved in a fatal collision (Bluff Rd & Whittier Blvd) 
Montebello, CA - On July 08, 2015 at approximately 9:57 pm, Montebello Police Officers responded to the area of Bluff Road and Whittier Blvd. regarding a vehicle versus bicyclist traffic collision.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered a bicyclist near the north curb line of Whittier Boulevard - west of Bluff Road. The involved vehicle fled the scene prior to the officer’s arrival. The bicyclist was transported to the Los Angeles County Hospital (USCMC), where he was being treated for his injuries. On Friday 7-10-15 the bicyclist, identified as Steven Garcia, a 24 year old Montebello resident succumbed to his injures.
The Montebello Police Traffic Unit is handling the investigation. The only information we have at this time, is that the suspect vehicle may have been a Ford Truck.
Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle and driver that fled the scene. Anyone with information regarding this fatal accident is encouraged to contact investigators.
