Newark Police Help Victim by Replacing Stolen Bicycle
On July 8th, 2015, Newark Police Officer Ethan Katz investigated a report of a stolen bicycle. The victim, Ruth, was very upset about the theft of her bicycle as it was her only way of traveling around Newark. Officer Katz shared Ruth’s story with fellow officers. A group of Newark Police Members were touched by Ruth’s story and donated money to purchase a replacement bicycle. On July 10th, 2015, the group of Newark Police Members presented Ruth with her brand new bicycle. Ruth was overjoyed by the act of generosity and even moved to tears. This event was just another example of how the Newark Police are committed to working with the community to improve the quality of life through creative and innovative policing.
