Statement from N.C. Department of Agriculture to farmers concerning contaminated lake water 
The N.C. Department of Agriculture released the following statement to farmers concerning the unknown substance that killed hundreds of fish in North Fork River Wednesday:
"Farmers are cautioned from using water from the affected area for any agricultural purposes (crops, watering animals, etc.) until further notice."
