Suspect arrested for stealing farm equipment

In an effort to combat and deter farm equipment theft, detectives from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Rural Crime Investigation Unit placed a piece of farm equipment under surveillance in the area of South Union Avenue and Curnow Road.

 

On 7/2/15, Rural Crime Detectives were notified the equipment had been stolen.  Detectives from the Rural Crime Investigation Unit located the stolen equipment inside of a vehicle parked near Machado Avenue and McCormac Avenue in Bakersfield.  During the investigation, detectives contacted Denny Sanders at a nearby residence.   Detectives developed probable cause to believe Denny Sanders, who is 45 years old from Bakersfield, committed the theft and arrested him.   Denny Sanders was transported and booked into the Central Receiving Facility for violation of PC 487(a) grand theft, PC 496(a) possession of stolen property, and PC 594(b)(2)(A) vandalism.
