Jackson Police Department will be performing increased traffic enforcement throughout the city during the Holiday weekend.

Press Release

Date: 02 July 2015

From: Lt. Ron Adams, Traffic Safety Coordinator

RE: Alcohol Countermeasures Team

As part of ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of the citizens of Jackson, the Jackson Police Department will be performing increased traffic enforcement throughout the city during the Independence Day Holiday weekend. The holiday period begins at 5:00PM on Thursday July 3rd and ends at 5:00AM on the 6th. Last year during these days there were 18 crashes in Jackson, 6 people were injured in those crashes.

During the weekend ACT officers will be conducting increased traffic enforcement. Officers will concentrate their efforts on removing impaired drivers from the roadways. However, as non-compliance with the safety belt and child restraint laws place people in danger these laws will be vigorously enforced as well.

This project funded solely by the Tennessee Governor's Highway Safety Office.
