On July 1, 2015 at approximately 5:45pm, deputies with the Sheriff's Gang Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle which was occupied by 37 year Miguel Angel Penaloza. During the stop, Penaloza was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was subsequently transported to his residence in the 900 block of Bernard St. for further investigation. At his residence deputies executed a search warrant and located a 40 caliber semi-auto handgun, a 25 caliber semi-auto handgun, 22 grams of methamphetamine, 17 marijauna plants in different stages of growth, $1400.00 in currency and paraphernalia indicative of the sale of controlled substances.Penaloza was booked into the Kern County Central Receiving Facility.
