2015 Special Olympics World Games Torch Run and Ceremony Comes to Petaluma on July 13th at Walnut Park

Ceremony is from 5:00 pm to 7 pm with the athletes arriving at approximately
6 pm.
On May 14, 2015 the Flame of Hope began its 46 day journey through all 50 U.S. states, raising funds for Special Olympics and creating untold awareness along the way. On July 10th, the Team Leaders of the World Games Final Leg Team accepted the torch back from the URAA event as they begin their mission of creating awareness for Special Olympics throughout the state of California and building excitement for the 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles.
Petaluma Police Department proudly participates as one of three Sonoma County Law Enforcement Agencies to honor the Special Olympics Athletes and Law Enforcement Runners with a ceremony to be held in Walnut Park at 6:00p.m. At 5:40 p.m. the runners will begin running from 969 Petaluma Boulevard North along Petaluma Boulevard North to Walnut Park. Please show your support as they run along the Boulevard, and join us for a brief ceremony at Walnut Park!
