Press Release: Lakewood Man Arrested for False Robbery Report

OFFICERS INVOLVED: Officer Christopher Brady and Detective Matthew Jackiewicz
ACCUSED: Christopher Angelil age 42 Lakewood, NJ
NARRATIVE: On 4/9/15 Officer Christopher Brady responded to a commercial business in Ocean Plaza in regards to a armed robbery that was purported to have occurred the previous night. Upon arrival, Officer Brady spoke with Christopher Angelil who reported that on 4/8/15 at approximately 9:45 pm he was accosted and robbed at gunpoint of cash and a cell phone while exiting the ATM drive up window at the Bank of America.
A subsequent follow up investigation by Detective Matthew Jackiewicz revealed that Mr. Angelil had fabricated the robbery. On Friday 6/26/15 Mr. Angelil was placed under arrest at the Township of Ocean Police Headquarters and charged with filing a false police report. Mr. Angelil was released on a complaint summons and is scheduled to appear at a future court hearing.
