Amarillo woman arrested after shooting boyfriend early Saturday morning.

On Saturday June 27th at 4:32am, APD officers were dispatched to the 400 block of S Tennessee on a report of an assault involving a weapon. As officers and medical personnel were responding additional details was a female occupant had shot her boyfriend in the head. Upon arrival officers located a B/F standing on the porch of the residence along with 6 children (ages from 3 to 12). The female advised the officer that her boyfriend was in the bedroom. The officer went inside and located a 34 year old W/M with a gunshot wound to the head. The male was conscious and speaking with officers about what happened. As medical personnel arrived, the victim was loaded in an ambulance and taken to a local hospital. Upon arrival at the hospital and the man’s condition deteriorated. The female was taken into custody and later transported to the Potter County Detention Center. The 6 children were taken from the residence and released to CPS after being interviewed by authorities. The victim remains in the hospital with life threatening injuries. The female suspect is identified as Kricynthia Lashawn Black B/F 30 was booked into PCDC for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
