David Jerome Stephens II was sentenced today in Logan County District Court for the rape of an 85-year-old woman December 25, 1997. Moena House was beaten with a pipe and sexually assaulted inside her Guthrie home. House died in 2008. An OSBI agent filed a “John Doe” warrant based off a DNA sample collected from House. The DNA profile on the “John Doe” warrant was matched to Stephens’ DNA after being collected from him when he was convicted of a drug charge in 2013. Associate District Court Judge Deul sentenced Stephens to 14 years, with the first seven years to be served in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.
