Just past midnight on Sunday, June 28, an armed robbery occurred at 19th St. and PCH in the City of Hermosa Beach. Two suspects approached a resident and robbed him at gunpoint, taking his wallet. The suspects entered an awaiting 4-door vehicle and fled the scene. Meanwhile, an El Segundo officer who was on routine patrol, spotted the suspect vehicle traveling north on Sepulveda Blvd. Several El Segundo officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop on the vehicle at Sepulveda Blvd. and Maple Ave. and detained a total of three suspects. Inside the vehicle officers located a loaded semi-automatic handgun, as well as the victim’s stolen wallet. All three suspects were released to the custody of Hermosa Beach PD officers and were subsequently booked on suspicion of robbery and possession of a loaded firearm with the intent to commit a felony.
