From the Lincoln County Emergency Operations Command
June 28, 2015, at 2:15 PM
As of tonight, the Mississippi River is expected to crest at 34.1 feet at the Lock and Dam 25, in Winfield. As a result, no further flooding, to include residential properties, is expected in Lincoln County. The Cities of Foley and Winfield are not in danger of additional flooding at this time. There are few minor sandbagging efforts along low lying levees as a conservation precaution only: however, these efforts are limited and not overseen by the county at this time.
The levees in Lincoln County are very saturated but breeches are NOT expected. Nonetheless, due to the unpredictability of earth levees and the weather, citizens are asked to avoid those areas in the event a levee does breech. County citizens are asked to stay off and away from the levees.
