Robert Edwards, a transient, arrested for attempting to burglarize a Grand Terrace home.

INCIDENT: Attempted Residential Burglary / Possession of Stolen Property
LOCATION: 12000 Westwood Ln., Grand Terrace
SUSPECT: Robert William Edwards, 35, Transient
SUMMARY:
In the evening hours of June 25, 2015, the victim saw Robert Edwards in the driveway area of her residence. The victim watched as Edwards got into a dark colored vehicle parked close by. She notified sheriffs dispatch of Edward's actions and gave a vehicle description. Deputy Gascon arrived on scene and was able to locate the vehicle, which was driving in the area with the headlights off. Deputy Gascon contacted Edwards, who was found to be in possession of a hammer, stolen mail and check book from one of the victims. The victims residence was checked and several areas displayed fresh pry marks. The hammer Edwards was in possession of is believed to be the item he used in the attempted burglary at the victims residence.
Edwards was arrested and booked into Sheriffs Central Detention Center.
