Two Robbery Suspects Arrested In East Bakersfield

On June 25, 2015 at approximately 3:20 pm, Metro Patrol deputies responded to an armed robbery that occurred at a grocery store located in the 6400 block of Niles Street.  The loss was alcohol with two suspects being identified as a male and female.  The male suspect was reported to be in possession of a black handgun.  Deputies arrived in the area and located the suspects a few blocks away.  The suspects fled into the nearby neighborhood a few blocks away from the grocery store.

 

Deputies and officers from Metro Patrol, Kern County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit, Cal-MMET, Kern County Probation, California Highway Patrol, and Bakersfield Police Department K-9 officers responded to assist with the search and perimeter due to the type of crime being investigated. 

 

After several yard searches, the female suspect was located and taken into custody in the 3800 block of Oregon Street.  Deputies received information the male suspect was also hiding in a yard in the 3800 block of Oregon Street.  Deputies located him and arrested him.  The suspects were discovered to be juveniles.  Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Kern County Probation Department's Juvenile Hall on several charges including robbery, conspiracy, and resisting arrest.
