Nebo man charged in triple stabbing of girlfriend and her parents Wednesday night

Lt. Andy Manis of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Jordan Flores DeJesus, 17, of Isaac Drive in Nebo, with three felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
Deputies were called to a residence on Isaac Drive in Nebo at 8:49 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a stabbing. DeJesus lived at the house with his girlfriend, 18-year-old Brooke Martin; her mother, 37-year-old April Martin; her father, 36-year-old Derrek Martin; and Derrek and April’s two other children, who are 10 and 6.
Authorities learned that DeJesus had gotten into an argument with Brooke, went to his bedroom, returned with a pocketknife and began stabbing his girlfriend and her parents.
Brooke sustained wounds to her head and hand and was taken by ambulance to Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville.
April received wounds to her head and was taken to McDowell Hospital.
Derreck was airlifted to Memorial Mission with wounds to his abdomen, shoulder and arm.
DeJesus severely cut his finger and was transported to Memorial Mission by ambulance.
All are expected to recover. The two minor children were not injured.
The suspect fled into the woods after the attack. He was apprehended a short time later by McDowell County sheriff’s deputies and troopers with the N.C. Highway Patrol.
